Technogeeky,
Thinking out loud
I have been been trying to look up do-it-yourself (DIY) guides to wiring up a telephone plug. I have been reading up on the literature on wikipedia and it sounds simple enough. I hope to be able to pull it off.
You see, the wall socket in the apartment has not been completed and wires are sticking out from the wall. A few weeks back, I bought a wall socket so that I could take care of this fixture, only to find that there were 4 strands of wire sticking out. I’ve read up on the intricacies of wiring a telephone wire and I hope to be able to figure out the tip-and-ring configuration so that I could hopefully get the telephone line to work. LoL.
Wish me luck

Thinking out loud
That is a term I coined to describe how we were reprimanded by our immediate boss. That would be the equivalent of ‘sinabon’ in Tagalog.
Hehe. Anyway, it was sort of a wake up call on our part, especially on my part as a trainee, as I do have a tendency to slack off when the going gets easy. And it wasn’t much of what you’d call a tongue-lashing as in a way, it was, as I said, a wake up call, as if we were held in the shoulders and shook up from our stupor. It made me realize that I still had an uphill climb ahead as to the things that I would have to learn as a novice drilling engineer, and the wide range of topics that I still have to cover (*sigh*). There’s still bit hydraulics, well casing cementing, and not to mention completion testing. Sorry if I might sound like I am babbling here. LoL.
Anyway, I am glad that I was ‘soaped’. Sure it may be an ego buster. Cmon, whoever would want to have their boss giving them a mouthful of how dismal their performance is, right? However, It’s always the realizations afterwards that count. It’s not in the falling down but in the getting up part.
Time to turn up my gear into overdrive..

Sounds like the end of the world right? LoL. I was just referring to the end of my vacation leave, my wedding leave, honeymoon leave, or whatever you’d like to call it. LoL. Borski and I are quite busy opening our gifts before I would leave for my next job assignment in Bacolod. And it didn’t help that we were both down with the flu.
Anyway, I’d be leaving for Bacolod later today. I hope to be able to post as much, which I think would be quite challenging as I already had my Smartbro account there discontinued. Will just post updates if and when I can. Ciao.

Happy Thoughts,
Mi Familia
Today is Borski’s birthday and she will be turning 29. It will be a whole day celebration since we will be partaking of the food left over from the wedding celebration yesterday.
We will be having early breakfast and yes, it will be another grand celebration because Borski’s aunts/uncles and immediate family will be with us. We will be joined in by her parents, her brothers Charles and Ace, and sisters-in-law Tere and Lyn, as well as her nephew CT. Of course, her birthday celebration would not be complete without the ice cream. LOL.
To Borski, here’s to having more years to your life, and more life to your years! Cheers! Let’s drink to that!

Happy Thoughts,
Thinking out loud
We are taking the plunge tomorrow!!
If I were to describe my feelings right now, I could say that I am overly anxious, and a lot of things are running through my head at the moment, thoughts revolving mainly on the scenarios that could possibly crop up tomorrow, thoughts like the wedding and reception ceremonies being in total disarray. But come to think of it, I guess I am not at all that worked up. In a way, I have already conditioned myself not to get overly stressed thinking about it. After all, it would only be possible triggering causes for pimple breakout, and I sure could not use any of those right now. LOL. I guess the major reason why Borski and I are not so worked up and stressed (or at least just at manageable levels) is due to the efficiency of the wedding coordinator we hired.
I could genuinely say, and I mean it when I say, “Thank God for wedding coordinators!”
Let’s drink to that! Cheers!

I was surprised today when I got home to find that we had a new addition to our family of pets. We had a new cute little fella by the name of ‘Batchoy,’ a Dachshund. He is barely three months old and just full of energy. Of course he receives so much pampering from my brothers naturally because he is the ‘bunso’ among the gang. Now Kobe and Carla have a new playmate.
I hope to be able to post a pic of this new addition on one of the posts in here..

Originally, our posting at our head office at Fort Bonifacio was just supposed to go on for a month, from Sept. 1 to 28. However, we had gotten word that we were to be extended ‘until further notice’ on this posting. This was unwelcome news because apart from not receiving our ‘hazard pay’ (which is one of the benefits that we receive when we are posted on the field), I had already quite gotten used to our field schedule, which was entirely unlike the schedule at the head office with was on a regular 8 to 5 shift.
Oh well, when we transferred to our new department, we always knew there was that possibility of us being rotated and being posted in our head office. The only thing that bothered us was the ‘until further notice’ part as this sounded so vague, and who knew, we could be posted here for 6 months for all I know.
I am crossing my fingers that it doesn’t at all happen like that and that we would have a definite term, say until the end of October. Also, our date with destiny is fast approaching…October 11 is barely a month away…
sigh…

Health and Fitness,
Jobs, etc.
I am now at our head office here in Fort Bonifacio.
As I expected, I knew that my body would need some adjusting to the weather condition (read: pollution) here. Right now, my throat hurts, which is usually an indication of not-so-good things to come my way. If left unchecked, this usually escalates into cough and colds, and then to fever, in extreme cases. Good thing I brought along with me a bottle of my most trusted oral antiseptic, Betadine garlgle.
This is truly a godsend for me especially when I am feeling the itch on my throat, as it has been proven time and again, that if only I stick to the schedule of gargling every 4 hours, usually I find that the itch goes away, with no more onset of the complications I mentioned earlier.
Now, who says that only those on the field should be eligible for hazard pay? :p
